Exness App Login Failed: Fix Incorrect Credentials

Last updated · SpreadComparison

Seeing “login failed” or “incorrect credentials” in the Exness app? First check which login screen you are using. Your Exness Personal Area sign-in and your MT4/MT5 trading-account login use different credentials. Entering the right password on the wrong screen can still produce an error.

This guide explains what to check, how to reset the correct password safely, and when to contact support. An authentication error alone does not establish that your account is blocked or your funds are missing.

Quick answer (2026)

Considering Vantage? Check the contracting company, account costs and withdrawal conditions before applying. An international referral destination does not automatically provide an FCA-regulated UK account.

Professional-client and offshore accounts give up FCA protections such as negative balance protection and FSCS cover.

Methodology: spreads are typical values recorded on each broker's raw/standard retail account during London–New York overlap hours, taken from the brokers' own published pricing pages and live platform data, then averaged. Commission is stated separately where it applies. Spreads are variable and widen around news and outside main sessions.

1. Identify which Exness login is failing

Before resetting anything, match the screen to the credentials it expects.

Exness Trade or Personal Area sign-in

For your main Exness profile, use your registered email address and Personal Area password. This sign-in gives access to account management. It is not the same as connecting an individual trading account to MetaTrader.

MT4 or MT5 trading-account connection

MetaTrader normally requires three matching details:

Find these details in the trading account’s information inside your Exness Personal Area. An MT4 account cannot be used as an MT5 account, or vice versa. Also check that you selected the intended live or demo account.

2. Check common credential mistakes

Work through these checks before making repeated attempts:

1. Type the details manually once. Autofill may insert an old password or credentials for another account.

2. Check the email address. Use the address registered with Exness, rather than another address saved on your phone.

3. Remove accidental spaces. Copying from a message can add leading or trailing spaces. Passwords are case-sensitive.

4. Check the keyboard. Caps lock, keyboard language and similar-looking characters can cause mismatches.

5. Confirm the trading account and server. Do not guess the server from its name or choose a similar-looking entry.

6. Check recent password changes. Update saved credentials wherever you use that account.

An investor or read-only password, where supported, does not provide trading permission. If you can connect but cannot place orders, that is a different problem from a rejected login.

3. Reset the correct password safely

If your Personal Area password is rejected

Open the official Exness app or manually navigate to the official website. Use the password-recovery option and follow the verification instructions. Check your spam folder if a recovery email does not arrive, and confirm that you entered the registered address.

If your trading password is rejected

Sign in to your Personal Area, select the affected trading account, and use its password-management option. Menu labels can vary by app version. After completing any required verification, reconnect using the account number, updated trading password and assigned server.

Resetting your Personal Area password does not automatically reset each trading account’s password. Likewise, changing a trading password does not replace your profile sign-in password.

Never share passwords or verification codes with anyone claiming they can repair your login. Avoid recovery links sent through unsolicited messages.

4. Rule out an app or connection issue

If the credentials appear correct, try signing in to the Personal Area through an updated browser. If browser access works but app access fails, update Exness Trade through the official app store, close it completely, and reopen it.

Try a trusted alternative network. If using a VPN, test without it where lawful; do not use one to bypass regional restrictions. Avoid repeated rapid login attempts, which may trigger security controls.

Contact Exness through its official support channels if the problem continues. Provide the exact error text, app version, device operating system, time of failure and whether browser login works. Redact sensitive details from screenshots. If you have open positions, mention that promptly: a failed login does not close positions or stop market exposure.

5. Exness versus Vantage: should you switch?

A credential error is usually a troubleshooting issue, not by itself a reason to change brokers. Exness may remain suitable if its account features, regional availability and trading costs meet your needs.

Vantage is our featured alternative for traders comparing platforms and account conditions:

Check the legal entity, client protections and actual account terms before applying. A new broker will not resolve access to existing Exness positions.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Exness reject a password I know is correct?

You may be using the Personal Area password for a trading account, or selecting the wrong account number, platform or server.
