What are Exness’s average spreads on major pairs?
A reliable answer requires a dated average for each symbol and account type. There is no independently verified, current 2026 average-spread dataset provided here, so quoting precise pair-by-pair averages would imply more certainty than the evidence supports.
Exness generally advertises the following account-level starting spreads. These are advertised floors, not typical spreads for every major pair; confirm current specifications with the entity serving your country.
| Exness account | Advertised spreads from | Commission structure |
|---|---:|---|
| Standard | 0.2 pips | Generally no separate trading commission |
| Standard Cent | 0.3 pips | Generally no separate trading commission |
| Pro | 0.1 pips | Generally no separate trading commission |
| Raw Spread | 0.0 pips | Commission charged per side |
| Zero | 0.0 pips | Symbol-dependent commission per side |
Account availability and terms can vary by jurisdiction. A zero-pip quote does not mean a trade is free, and the lowest advertised spread does not tell you what you will pay throughout a session.
Which major pairs should you check?
Compare the same account and observation period across these commonly traded majors:
- EUR/USD: Usually among the most liquid pairs and a useful starting point for cost comparisons.
- GBP/USD: Often has wider or more variable spreads than EUR/USD, especially around UK announcements.
- USD/JPY: Highly liquid, but Japanese policy decisions and sudden yen moves can disrupt pricing.
- AUD/USD and NZD/USD: Check quotes during your actual trading hours, including Asia-Pacific releases.
- USD/CAD and USD/CHF: Watch domestic data releases and periods of reduced liquidity.
These are general market tendencies, not measured Exness averages or promises about a particular quote.
How to find a meaningful Exness average
Check Exness’s current instrument specifications and any published average-spread figures for your chosen account. Look for the measurement period: an average without dates or a sampling method is difficult to compare fairly.
Next, monitor live bid and ask quotes in your intended trading window. For most major pairs, one pip is 0.0001; for yen pairs, it is 0.01. Some platforms display points rather than pips, so check the symbol’s precision.
For a practical comparison:
1. Record spreads at consistent intervals across several normal trading days.
2. Separate your usual session from rollover and major news periods.
3. Calculate the mean and note the widest observations, not just the lowest quote.
4. Add commissions and assess execution on the same trade size.
A time-sampled average still may not match your realised cost. Market orders can experience slippage, and overnight positions may incur swap or other applicable holding charges.
Compare total cost, not just the spread
For EUR/USD in a USD-denominated account, a standard 100,000-unit lot has a pip value of approximately $10.
Illustrative calculation—not an Exness quote: a 0.2-pip spread plus $7 round-trip commission costs approximately $9 per standard lot, equivalent to 0.9 pips. A commission-free 0.8-pip spread would cost approximately $8 under the same assumptions.
This shows why an account advertising spreads from zero is not automatically cheaper. Pip values differ for other pairs and account currencies, so convert commissions consistently before comparing.
Exness versus Vantage
Exness offers several pricing structures, making it worth assessing whether spread-only or commission-based pricing better fits your trade size and schedule. Its familiar MT4 and MT5 access is another practical consideration. However, account selection should also reflect execution, withdrawal conditions and the protections of your contracting entity.
Vantage is our featured alternative. Its group includes FCA- and ASIC-regulated entities, it advertises raw spreads from 0.0 pips, and it offers MT4, MT5 and TradingView access, subject to account and regional availability.
Those features do not establish that Vantage has lower average spreads than Exness. Compare equivalent accounts over the same hours, including round-trip commissions, swaps and currency-conversion costs.
Importantly, a group’s FCA or ASIC authorisation does not mean every international client receives those entities’ protections. Check the legal entity named in the application, its register entry and applicable retail-client safeguards.
Open a Vantage account if its locally available terms suit your needs.
