Which Exness account should you choose?
For most cost-conscious traders, shortlist Raw Spread, Zero and Pro. Standard is easier to understand, but its wider advertised starting spread makes it less compelling when spread reduction is your main objective.
Exness advertises the following starting conditions; these are minimums, not typical live quotes, and availability can differ by entity and country:
| Account | Advertised spread from | Advertised commission | Best starting use case |
|---|---|---|---|
| Raw Spread | 0.0 pips | Up to $3.50 per lot, per side | Traders comparing consistent commission-based pricing |
| Zero | 0.0 pips | From $0.05 per lot, per side; instrument-dependent | Traders concentrating on selected instruments |
| Pro | 0.1 pips | No separate trading commission | Traders seeking competitive all-in pricing |
| Standard | 0.2 pips | No separate trading commission | Beginners prioritising simplicity |
Check the current instrument specifications before funding. Spreads can widen during news, rollover and thin liquidity, and minimum deposits for professional accounts depend on location.
Raw Spread: the practical first comparison
Raw Spread combines tight variable spreads with a separate commission. This makes it a useful benchmark for scalping or frequent trading, where small cost differences accumulate.
For illustration, on a standard EUR/USD lot in a USD account, one pip is approximately $10. A $3.50 commission on each side means $7 round trip, equivalent to roughly 0.7 pips before adding the spread. A zero displayed spread therefore does not mean a free trade.
Zero: check your exact instrument
Zero targets zero-spread pricing on selected instruments for specified portions of the trading day. That does not mean every symbol stays at zero throughout every session.
Its commission varies by instrument. Compare the actual round-trip charge on your chosen forex pair or gold contract rather than assuming the advertised minimum applies. Zero can beat Raw Spread on one instrument and cost more on another.
Pro: potentially better without commission
Pro deserves consideration even though its advertised minimum spread is higher. A commission-free quote can be cheaper overall than a narrower spread plus commission.
Execution also matters: Pro can use instant execution for certain instruments, with market execution applying to others or where offered. Check the applicable settings; instant execution may involve requotes, while market execution can involve slippage.
Does account type determine maximum leverage?
Not by itself. Exness advertises very high leverage, including unlimited leverage for eligible accounts under specified conditions. This is not a universal entitlement across countries, entities, instruments or account balances.
Available leverage depends on factors including:
- Your contracting entity and local restrictions.
- Account equity and applicable leverage tiers.
- Trading-history eligibility for unlimited leverage.
- Instrument-specific margin rules.
- Higher-margin requirements around certain news events, weekends or market closures.
Unlimited leverage does not mean unlimited buying power without risk. Reduced margin can make it easier to open oversized positions, and a small adverse move can rapidly exhaust available equity. Confirm your live margin requirement before placing an order.
For this query, choose the account with the best total trading cost first, then use only the leverage your risk plan requires.
Featured alternative: Vantage
Vantage is worth comparing if you want raw-spread pricing and platform choice. Its group includes FCA- and ASIC-regulated entities, and it advertises raw spreads from 0.0 pips, with commissions on applicable accounts. It offers MT4, MT5 and TradingView, subject to account, entity and regional availability.
The important distinction is the entity opening your account. FCA or ASIC regulation within a broker group does not automatically protect customers registered with another group entity. Under UK and Australian retail rules, leverage on major forex pairs is generally capped at 30:1, with lower limits for other instruments.
Exness may appeal more to eligible traders prioritising very high leverage. Vantage may suit those prioritising its platform offering or access to an appropriately regulated local entity. Neither broker's advertised minimum spread establishes which is cheaper during your trading hours.
Before choosing, compare typical live spreads, round-trip commissions, swaps, execution and withdrawal conditions for the same instrument and session.
