When can you use a different bank account?
The important distinction is between a different account you own and an account belonging to somebody else. Even if both accounts are yours, you should not assume you can freely switch withdrawal destinations.
Exness payment availability and requirements vary by country, servicing entity and payment provider. Your Personal Area shows the withdrawal methods available to you, but an available bank-transfer option does not necessarily mean every bank account is eligible.
Another account in your own name
You may be able to withdraw to another personal bank account, subject to the applicable withdrawal rules. Exness may need to establish that you own it and determine whether your original deposit must first be returned through its original payment route.
For example, depositing by card and then requesting a bank transfer is not necessarily treated the same as depositing and withdrawing through the same bank-transfer service. Card refunds and withdrawals of trading profits may follow different processes.
Someone else’s bank account
Generally, no. Using your spouse’s, friend’s or company’s account for a personal trading-account withdrawal can create an ownership mismatch and lead to rejection or additional checks. A joint account also needs confirmation rather than an assumption that your name appearing on it is sufficient.
How to check before requesting a withdrawal
Use this checklist to avoid preventable delays:
1. Open your Exness Personal Area. Check the withdrawal options, method-specific instructions and any outstanding verification requirements.
2. Review how you deposited. Note the payment method, currency and whether you used multiple funding routes.
3. Check recipient details. Your bank-account ownership should match your verified Exness identity. Ask support about name changes or spelling differences.
4. Ask about the specific new account. Provide the bank name, country and account type through official support channels; do not share passwords or one-time codes.
5. Confirm refund requirements. Ask whether any deposit must be returned to the original funding source before another destination becomes available.
6. Submit only after clarification. Keep the withdrawal reference and any written instructions from support.
A useful message is: “I deposited using [method]. Can I withdraw to a different bank account in my own name in [country]? What ownership documents or refund steps are required?”
What if the original bank account is closed?
Contact Exness support before submitting a withdrawal to the closed account. Explain whether the bank account itself is closed, a card has expired, or the bank has replaced your account details—these are different situations.
Support may request evidence such as a bank closure letter, an account statement or confirmation of ownership of the replacement account. Upload documents only through an approved secure channel.
An expired card does not necessarily mean the underlying account cannot receive a refund. Your bank can explain how it handles refunds to replaced cards. Exness must confirm the permitted alternative if the original route is unavailable; approval is not guaranteed.
Timing, costs and rejected requests
There is no single reliable processing time for every Exness bank withdrawal. Check the advertised timeframe and limits for your selected method. Bank processing, weekends, compliance checks and payment-provider issues can affect arrival time.
Also check potential currency conversion, intermediary-bank and receiving-bank charges. If a request fails, read the rejection reason before resubmitting: repeated attempts will not resolve an ownership mismatch or an unsupported destination.
Exness versus Vantage: compare withdrawal fit first
Exness can be a practical choice when its local payment methods match your banking setup. A restriction on changing bank accounts is not, by itself, evidence of unfair treatment; ownership and funding-source checks are common across regulated brokers.
Vantage is our featured alternative, particularly for traders comparing platforms and account types:
- The Vantage group includes FCA- and ASIC-regulated entities. Your actual entity depends on residence and eligibility; those protections do not automatically apply to every client.
- Eligible raw-spread accounts advertise spreads from 0.0 pips, with commissions and other trading costs to consider. Actual spreads vary.
- Vantage offers MT4, MT5 and TradingView, subject to account and regional availability.
Vantage also applies payment-ownership and withdrawal checks. Switching brokers is not a workaround for withdrawing to somebody else’s account. Before funding either broker, confirm the legal entity, supported bank-transfer route, refund rules and applicable charges.
CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Vantage is an advertising partner; we may earn a commission.
