1. Match the password to the login screen
Exness website or Exness Trade app
For your Personal Area, use your registered email address and Personal Area password. If you recently reset that password, enter the new one manually rather than accepting a saved browser or phone suggestion.
MT4 or MT5 trading terminal
A trading terminal normally requires:
- Your trading-account number, not your email address.
- The password for that specific trading account.
- The exact server assigned to that account.
Check these details in your Exness Personal Area. If you only changed your Personal Area password, your existing trading password may still be the correct one for MT4 or MT5.
An investor or read-only password is different again: it permits viewing rather than normal trading access. Logging in successfully but being unable to trade can therefore be a permissions issue, not a failed password reset.
2. Eliminate saved-password and typing problems
Password managers often keep filling an older password after a reset. Before changing anything again:
1. Open the official Exness website directly or launch the official app.
2. Clear the password field and type the latest password manually.
3. Check Caps Lock, keyboard language and accidental spaces.
4. Confirm that the email address belongs to the account you reset.
5. After a successful login, update your saved password entry.
For a browser-only problem, try a private window or another updated browser. If that works, stale site data or an extension may be interfering. Clear Exness-specific site data rather than deleting all browser data unnecessarily.
Avoid repeated rapid attempts. If the platform displays a temporary restriction, follow its instructions rather than repeatedly submitting credentials.
3. Check the terminal, server and connection
If your Personal Area works but MT4/MT5 does not, concentrate on the trading-account details. An MT4 account cannot simply be used as an MT5 account, and selecting a similarly named server is not enough.
Recheck the account number, platform and server against the details shown in your Personal Area. Confirm that you selected the intended live or demo account.
Error wording is a clue, not a complete diagnosis:
- “Invalid account” or “Authorization failed”: Recheck the login number, trading password and server.
- “No connection”: Check internet access, server selection and whether the terminal is updated.
- Access or verification prompt: Complete the official security steps; another password reset may not resolve it.
Restart the app or terminal and test a trusted alternative connection if appropriate. Do not disable security protections or use a VPN to bypass regional restrictions.
4. Reset the right password or contact support
If Personal Area access still fails, use the password-recovery option on the official Exness login page. Use the latest recovery message and complete the process before trying the new password. Request a fresh recovery link if the previous one has expired.
If only a trading account is affected, use that account’s password-management controls within the Personal Area. Menu names can vary by interface.
Contact official Exness support if recovery messages never arrive, your registered contact method is unavailable, or access remains blocked. Provide:
- The affected platform and exact error message.
- When the problem started, including your time zone.
- Whether Personal Area access or only trading access fails.
- A screenshot with sensitive information hidden.
Never share passwords, one-time codes or recovery links. If the password change was not yours, secure your email account and contact Exness immediately. If you have open positions, tell support promptly; a login problem does not stop market exposure.
5. Exness versus Vantage: should you switch?
A password mismatch alone is not a strong reason to leave Exness. Resolving the login issue may be simpler than opening and verifying another account. Compare brokers separately on costs, execution, support and the legal entity serving your country.
Vantage is our featured alternative. Its group includes FCA- and ASIC-regulated entities, but those protections do not automatically apply to every customer. Check your contracting entity and local eligibility.
Vantage advertises raw spreads from 0.0 pips on relevant accounts; these are advertised minimums, not typical all-in costs or guarantees. Commissions, variable spreads and overnight financing can apply. Vantage offers MT4, MT5 and TradingView access, subject to account and regional availability.
If those features suit your needs, review the terms before proceeding: Open a Vantage account.
CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Vantage is an advertising partner; we may earn a commission.
