1. Identify which login is failing
Exness Personal Area or Exness Trade app
Your Personal Area normally uses your registered email address and account password. If those credentials fail:
- Open Exness through its official website or verified app, not a link sent by an unknown contact.
- Check your email spelling, keyboard language and accidental spaces.
- Use the official password-reset option if necessary.
- If the page will not load, try an updated browser, clear site cookies or switch between a trusted Wi-Fi connection and mobile data.
Do not repeatedly guess passwords. If a reset email does not arrive, check spam folders and confirm you are using the email registered with Exness.
MT4 or MT5 trading account
MetaTrader requires your trading account number, trading password and exact server name. Your Personal Area email and password are not substitutes.
Find the account details in your Personal Area. Confirm whether the account is for MT4 or MT5: an MT4 account cannot log in through MT5, or vice versa. Match the server exactly, including any live/demo designation.
2. Match the error to the likely cause
“Invalid account” or “Authorization failed”
These messages commonly point to incorrect credentials, the wrong server or a platform mismatch. Re-enter the account number and server first. If necessary, reset the trading password through the account settings, then reconnect using the new password.
A successful investor-password login generally gives read-only access. If you can see the account but cannot trade, check that you used the main trading password rather than the investor password.
“No connection” or a stalled terminal
Check your internet connection and whether other websites load. Restart the terminal, install available updates and verify the server selection. Review firewall permissions without disabling your device’s security protections.
An interruption may also be broker-side. Check official Exness service notices or ask support whether your specific server is affected. Avoid assuming that every connection error means an account suspension.
Account missing, disabled or restricted
Check whether the Personal Area is showing live accounts, demo accounts or archived accounts. Inactive accounts may be archived under applicable rules; demo accounts can also expire. Follow any available restoration instructions, or ask support whether restoration is possible.
Restrictions may involve outstanding verification, security checks, account eligibility or regional requirements. Read account notifications and provide documents only through official channels. Do not use a VPN or inaccurate residency details to bypass restrictions.
3. Protect open positions and escalate safely
Losing access does not close your trades. Existing positions remain exposed to market movements, margin requirements and any configured stop orders.
If you have open positions, try another officially supported interface for the same account, where available. Contact Exness support promptly if access remains unavailable; do not assume support can execute or close trades for you.
Prepare:
- Your trading account number and server, shared only with official support.
- The exact error message and a screenshot with sensitive details hidden.
- Your device, operating system and platform version.
- The time the problem started, including your time zone.
- Whether the Personal Area works and whether positions are open.
Never share passwords, one-time codes or remote-control access with someone claiming they can “unlock” your account. Keep a record of your support case and any relevant notifications.
4. Exness versus Vantage: when to consider an alternative
A login problem alone is not evidence that Exness is unsuitable. Incorrect server details or passwords can affect users of any MetaTrader broker. Resolving the original issue is usually more useful than immediately moving brokers, especially while positions remain open.
If you are reviewing your longer-term options, Vantage is our featured alternative. Its group includes FCA- and ASIC-regulated entities, but your contracting entity and protections depend on your location and eligibility. Those regulators do not automatically cover every Vantage customer.
Vantage advertises raw spreads from 0.0 pips on eligible accounts; these are advertised minimums, not typical all-in trading costs or guaranteed execution prices. Commissions, swaps and wider spreads during volatile periods can affect costs. Vantage offers MT4, MT5 and TradingView access, subject to entity, account and regional availability.
Compare the legal entity, account charges, platform availability, withdrawal conditions and support access for both brokers before choosing. Opening another account will not resolve an existing Exness restriction or transfer open positions automatically.
CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Vantage is an advertising partner; we may earn a commission.
