What does Exness CFD trading cost?
For a useful estimate, combine spread cost + round-trip commission + overnight financing, then account for any currency conversion and execution differences. Slippage can improve or worsen your execution price; it is not a separate fixed broker fee.
Spreads: the difference between buying and selling
The spread is the gap between the bid and ask prices. If you open and immediately close a CFD position without a market move, that gap represents your spread cost, before other charges.
Exness advertises different starting spreads across its account range. Standard and Pro accounts generally use spread-based pricing without trading commission, while Raw Spread and Zero accounts separate tighter spreads from commissions. Check current regional specifications before choosing an account.
Advertised spreads from 0.0 pips do not mean free trading. Zero spreads may apply only to selected instruments or periods, and commission can still be payable. Spreads can widen around economic announcements, daily rollover and thin liquidity.
Commission: check both sides of the trade
On commission-based accounts, establish whether the quoted charge is per side or round trip. A per-side commission applies when opening and again when closing.
Exness has advertised Raw Spread commissions of up to $3.50 per lot per side; instrument-specific rates and current terms must be checked. Zero account commissions vary by instrument. Do not assume a forex commission schedule applies unchanged to gold, indices or other CFDs.
Overnight financing and other costs
Positions held across the broker’s daily rollover may incur swap charges or credits. These depend on the instrument, direction and applicable account conditions. Multi-day adjustments can apply on a specified weekday, which differs by instrument.
Exness offers swap-free conditions in some circumstances, but eligibility, covered instruments and continued availability are subject to terms. Verify your actual account status rather than assuming every position is free to hold overnight.
Also check:
- Currency conversion: when trading profits, losses or payment currencies differ from your account currency.
- Payment-provider charges: banks or payment services may charge even when the broker does not.
- Contract specifications: lot size, tick value and financing rules differ across CFDs.
A practical spread-and-commission example
Suppose you trade one standard lot of EUR/USD in a USD account. Its pip value is approximately $10.
- Illustrative spread-only account: a typical spread assumption of 1.0 pip gives approximately $10 in spread cost.
- Illustrative raw-spread account: a typical spread assumption of 0.2 pips gives approximately $2 in spread cost. Adding an assumed $3.50 commission per side produces approximately $9 overall.
These are illustrative assumptions, not verified typical Exness quotes or guaranteed prices. Both calculations exclude swaps, conversion and slippage. Count the bid–ask spread once for this round-trip comparison, not once on entry and again on exit.
For gold or index CFDs, use the instrument’s actual tick value and contract size instead of the forex pip shortcut.
Exness versus Vantage: compare total cost
Exness deserves consideration for its account choice, MT4/MT5 availability and potentially competitive pricing. Its tightest advertised spread is not enough to identify the cheapest account for your strategy, however. Compare typical spreads during your trading hours, commissions and financing on the same instruments.
Vantage is our featured alternative. Its group includes FCA- and ASIC-regulated entities, and it advertises raw spreads from 0.0 pips. It offers MT4, MT5 and TradingView access, subject to entity, account and regional availability. Raw pricing can involve commission, so the advertised minimum is not an all-in cost.
Regulation must be checked at the contracting-entity level. Opening with a brand that has an FCA- or ASIC-regulated entity does not automatically place you under that entity’s protections. Exness also operates through multiple entities; its UK entity does not offer retail trading services. Confirm which entity accepts residents of your country.
Before choosing either broker:
- Compare typical spreads and round-trip commissions on your preferred CFDs.
- Check overnight costs for your expected holding period.
- Confirm platform availability, leverage limits and withdrawal conditions.
- Read the client agreement for applicable protections and dispute procedures.
Open a Vantage account if its available entity, platforms and pricing fit your needs—not simply because it advertises zero-pip starting spreads.
