Exness gold commission by account type
Exness offers different pricing structures rather than one universal gold commission. Account availability and conditions can vary by country and contracting entity.
- Standard: Generally no separate trading commission. The spread is the main direct transaction cost for an intraday gold trade.
- Pro: Generally no separate trading commission, with a different spread and execution structure from Standard. Compare actual gold quotes rather than assuming every trade is cheaper.
- Raw Spread: Exness advertises commission of up to $3.50 per lot, per side across this account’s pricing schedule. Confirm the current XAUUSD rate; do not treat that account-level figure as a verified live gold quote.
- Zero: Commission varies by instrument. Use the gold-specific commission in the contract specifications, not the account’s lowest advertised starting commission.
On commission-based accounts, “per side” means opening and closing are charged separately. A rate quoted per lot also scales with your trade size.
Example: calculating a round-trip commission
If your applicable gold commission is $3.50 per lot per side, the commission for opening and closing would be:
- 1.00 lot: $7.00 total.
- 0.10 lot: $0.70 total.
- 0.01 lot: $0.07 total.
These are illustrative calculations, not a guarantee of the current XAUUSD tariff. Currency conversion and rounding may affect the amount shown in a non-USD account.
What does an Exness gold trade really cost?
For a completed trade, consider spread cost + opening commission + closing commission + any overnight charges. Slippage can also change your realised result relative to the price you requested.
Gold spreads fluctuate with liquidity and volatility. They may widen around economic announcements, daily rollover or market reopening. Neither a low advertised spread nor a commission-free account guarantees a low total cost.
Convert the spread into money
A useful calculation is:
Spread cost = ask–bid price difference × contract size × lots traded.
For example, assume a typical gold contract size of 100 troy ounces per lot and an illustrative XAUUSD spread of $0.20 per ounce. A one-lot trade has an approximate spread cost of $20. If its round-trip commission is $7, the combined spread-and-commission cost is about $27 before overnight charges and slippage.
Check the contract size for your exact symbol. Gold “pip” terminology can differ between platforms, so the price difference in dollars per ounce is often clearer. The spread is reflected in your entry and exit prices, not normally deducted as a separate commission line.
How to verify your exact Exness XAUUSD fee
Before placing an order:
1. Identify your account type and legal entity. Conditions on another regional Exness website may not apply to you.
2. Check the exact gold symbol. Account-specific symbol variants can have different specifications.
3. Read the current instrument and commission schedules. Confirm whether the rate is per side or round trip, per lot, and in which currency.
4. Inspect the live spread and overnight terms. Do not assume gold is always swap-free; check eligibility, exceptions and any applicable administrative charges.
5. Review your trade history. Commission entries help confirm how charges are recorded. Ask support if the published schedule and your statement appear inconsistent.
For frequent intraday trading, compare spread plus round-trip commission. For longer holding periods, overnight terms deserve equal attention.
Featured alternative: Vantage
Exness is worth considering if its account structures and gold trading conditions fit your strategy. Vantage is our featured alternative, particularly for traders comparing platform choice and raw-spread pricing.
Vantage has FCA- and ASIC-regulated entities, although international clients may be onboarded under other entities. Regulatory protections depend on the company named in your agreement; they do not automatically extend across the whole group.
Vantage advertises raw spreads from 0.0 pips and offers MT4, MT5 and TradingView, subject to account, entity and regional availability. The advertised minimum is not a promise of zero spreads on gold. Raw pricing can include commission, so request the applicable XAUUSD schedule.
Compare both brokers using the same position size, trading time and expected holding period. Check gold spreads, round-trip commission, overnight costs and withdrawal conditions—not just the headline minimum.
CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Vantage is an advertising partner; we may earn a commission.
